Dr. Izkovitch House
The residence of Aliza and Dr. Yitzhak Izkvitch, one of the first Jewish physicians in Haifa (1890 - 1980). He was one of the founders of the Israeli Medical Association (IMA) and served as the head of Haifa Branch for many years. He initiated the establishment of "Beit HaRofeh" as well as the "Maon HaRofeh" - senior home for elderly physicians. The house, which was built in 1930, was designed by architect Alexander Berwald. It is characterized by its unique Israeli style that combined the basics of local, European and Middle Eastern architecture.
Offices of the Community Committee were located in the building and the Haifa Rabbinate was housed there until the end of 70's.
